Emergency room visit
Missus and I spent some four hours in the first hours of Thursday morning in the emergency room. No details to share, things appear to be good now, but we got into bed about 4.20 am. An afternoon nap was necessary.
¶ Snow covered a good part of the American Midwest a couple of days ago. Son2 traveled across the girth of the country yesterday. Prayed he made it fine, with no flight cancellations, which he did. My mom sent a photo, although these appear to be pretty common.
¶ An untitled poem contrasting Youth and Age was a nice job, but dated. I substituted a few adjectives. You can read it on my social spot at Hubzilla.
¶ Did I mention I edited and published a 388-page book written by a friend? Largest one so far. I felt nervous about it, wanted it to come out really well. I was pleased with it. It arrived a couple of days ago.
¶ I’m reading, or rereading, the Power for Today devotionals from 1985. Today’s reading (Jan. 12, ignoring the weekday given) had been written by the multi-gifted Glover Shipp, whom I was privileged to know. Our time in Belo Horizonte overlapped briefly, but I knew him for some years before and afterwards. We stayed once in his US home on a visit. Glover was one of my inspirations for missions and Brazil. Below is a PDF shot of the devotional. Please do read it.
¶ Been trying to get parts of this posted for a couple of days. Work interferes. Such is life. Paciência!
¶ Missus and I helped some girls go to camp. We’d done this before. Seems to be a wonderful investment. They enjoyed it greatly, and photos sent yesterday from the starting point showed their excitement. (No photo, for their protection.) Glad we were able to do this.
