Feeling betrayed
Feeling betrayed is one of the worst sensations. One who was often with us and asked to be a part was key in sweeping away what we had sought to build. We take solace in knowing that Jesus felt it, too, more keenly then we ever could. “Now the betrayer had given them a sign, saying, ‘The one I kiss is the man. Arrest him!’” Matthew 26.48 NET.
They thought I was what I had never been, because they could only see what they wanted to see. Something along the lines of Matthew 13.15 and similar passages.
Am thinking of an article approach about how a congregation can get back to the simplicity and originality of the New Testament. So many are too far gone. Some may be able to recover. This in Portuguese, of course. Others can work through this themselves. So much history!
Buck the tradition and become the outsider. Follow Jesus.
