Met the new neighbors

Missus and I traveled in November. When we returned, we hit the ground running. Right before we traveled, a new couple moved in the house right in front of us. During our trip, two new couples moved in, next door and across the street and down one. We’d not met the couple next door. When we came home today, they were sitting out front, so we went over and introduced ourselves. Seem to be a nice couple, probably in their 30s; he might be early 40s. They proposed having pizza together sometime.

While the Missus had an appointment around noonish, I ran around some furniture stores and similar places looking for a little laptop table for the living room. The one we had is at its end. I found a couple of things, but wasn’t impressed with them.

It’s the third of January; how are we doing on our resolutions and other desired changes in life? I’m still forming mine. Don’t want to rush things, right?

One of the best foods for dinner (or supper, depending on where you’re from) in terms of digestion and weight the next morning is ─ believe it or not ─ my wife’s homemade chili. I usually drop a bit on the scales the next day. I was at an all-time low (in recent decades) this morning. I anticipate the same or lower in the morning. I’ll let you know. Keto!

This struck the right note, a study Bible, comment on Acts 2.42-47:

The early Christians lived only for their Lord and for the other members of His Body, the Church. How cheap in comparison is our indifference to the Church; how sad are our compromises with the world. Yet the Holy Spirit still dwells and works among us; we still have the apostles’ teaching embodied in the NT Scriptures. How blessed are we in such heavenly fellowship! • Lord, open our eyes to Your reality, order our priorities, and let Your light transfigure these latter days. Amen. (The Lutheran Study Bible; and no, I’m not Lutheran.)

Until tomorrow, or the next day! (No photo today, sorry.)
